The best time to visit Japan depends on what you’re looking for:

  • Spring (March to May): Famous for cherry blossoms (sakura), with mild temperatures.
  • Summer (June to August): Warm weather and vibrant festivals, though it can be humid.
  • Autumn (September to November): Stunning autumn foliage with cool, comfortable weather.
  • Winter (December to February): Ideal for skiing or other winter sports and enjoying hot springs (onsen) in colder regions.

Yes. We focus on small group travel experiences (typically 2 – 6 people) to maintain a personalized feel, but we also arrange bespoke private trips and tours for couples, families, businesses or special-interest groups upon request.

 Fully private trips for a mimum of 2 people and semi-private trips from 2-6 people maximum, ensuring more intimate experiences, greater flexibility, and direct interaction with our guides and local experts.

We offer both group tours and private tours. Group tours are ideal for those who enjoy meeting other travelers and following a set itinerary, while private tours allow you to have a more personalized and flexible experience. Yes! We offer custom travel packages to Japan. If you have specific destinations, experiences, or dates in mind, just let us know, and we will create an itinerary tailored to your needs. You can also add or remove tours, extend your stay, or upgrade your accommodation.

Pricing & Inclusions

 No, our packages do not include international flights. We focus on land arrangements, accommodations, private drivers, and cultural activities.

 Most of our itineraries include:

  • 4-star (or equivalent) accommodations
  • Private-driver services and transfers (with tolls, fuel, and parking)
  • Select meals (if specified in the itinerary)
  • Sightseeing & pre-arranged experiences
  • All taxes and local service charges

Please check the individual trip descriptions for specific inclusions and exclusions.

You should budget for:

  • International flights

Optional activities beyond the standard itinerary

 Packing for Japan will depend on the season, but some essential items include:

  • Comfortable walking shoes (Japan has a lot of walking tours and public transportation)
  • A power adapter for your electronics (Japan uses Type A and B plugs)
  • A light jacket or sweater (even in warmer months, air conditioning can make indoor spaces chilly)
  • An umbrella (especially during the rainy season in June and July)
  • Your passport, visa (if required), and travel insurance documents
  • Any prescribed medications

Traveling with a Private Driver

Our professional drivers will pick you up at arrival to the airport and will drive you to your accommodation. As per the itinerary, your driver will pick you up at the hotels and transport you to sights or tours on the scheduled days. This service ensures convenience and flexibility, letting you optimize your travel time and comfort.

We typically try to arrange English-speaking drivers. In addition, we provide an English-speaking concierge person, available via WhatsApp, who will assist you during your trip.

Tipping is not customary in Japan. However, if you’re extremely satisfied with your driver’s service, a small token of appreciation or a heartfelt thank-you is always welcome.

Unfortunately, our cars cannot accommodate special equipment such as wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walkers, etc as part of our standard travel packages. People travelling should be abled walkers in order to join our small group trips. Although transportation is via private car, the sightseeing options still require a fair degree of walking.

If you have any special requests (e.g., health concerns, mobility issues, or preferences), please let us know when booking your package. We may require you to book a fully private trip to be able to customize your itinerary and take your personal needs into consideration. Our team will do our best to accommodate your needs. If you need assistance during your trip, our local guides and support staff are available to help.

Yes, we can adjust the trip length to accommodate your schedule. Contact us with your preferred travel dates, and we’ll work to design a trip that fits. This service is available only for fully private trips for a minimum of 2 people.

Yes. We pride ourselves on showcasing lesser-known areas like quaint villages, hidden temples, and local cultural workshops. This allows for a more authentic Japanese experience.

Accommodations & Meals

We typically use 4-star accommodations (Western-style or high-quality Japanese ryokans), but you can upgrade or based on preference and budget. Please fill out the contact form to let us know your needs. 

Yes, we do our best to secure the room type you desire, subject to availability.

Some meals are included, particularly breakfasts. Any inclusions will be noted on the itinerary. We also provide dining recommendations for free evenings so you can explore local cuisine.

Travel Documents & Insurance

It depends on your nationality and the length of stay. Many passport holders (e.g., from the US, EU countries) can enter Japan visa-free for short tourist visits. Check with your local consulate or embassy.

We highly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical costs, and baggage.

We do not offer travel insurance. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected events such as flight cancellations, medical emergencies, or trip delays.

Yes, we take data privacy seriously. We only collect essential details needed to book accommodations, tours, or third-party services. We will handle your data in compliance with the EU GDPR regulations. Please review our Data Protection policy Consent form for further information.

Payments & Cancellations

We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and some alternative payment methods (e.g., PayPal, Klarna, etc.) depending on your region.

Yes. If one or more individuals in a group booking cancel, the cancellation fees apply to those individuals.

During the Trip

Meals are typically not included in our trips. However you might have breakfast included with the hotel. If this is the case then please inform the hotel staff of your requirements. They strive to accommodate dietary preferences (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) and accessibility needs whenever possible

Japan offers an incredible variety of food, including sushi, ramen, tempura, and yakitori. Depending on the region, you’ll also have access to local specialties like Osaka’s takoyaki (octopus balls) or Kyoto’s kaiseki (traditional multi-course meal). Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available, but we recommend notifying us in advance if you have dietary restrictions.

No. Our team and local guides typically speak English (and sometimes other languages). While basic phrases can enhance your trip, it’s not necessary for day-to-day logistics.

Yes, you can use your mobile phone in Japan. However, be sure to check with your mobile provider regarding international roaming charges. Alternatively, you can rent a pocket Wi-Fi device or purchase a Japanese SIM card for affordable internet access during your trip. Depending on what type of phone you have, you may also be able to install en E-sim with apps like Airalo.

The currency in Japan is the Japanese Yen (¥). While credit cards are widely accepted in major cities, we recommend carrying cash for smaller purchases or in rural areas. There are many ATMs and currency exchange offices in major cities to withdraw cash. For use of public transportation it is advisable to buy or install a transportation card such as Suica or Pasmo.

We provide an emergency contact number for 24/7 assistance. You’ll also have direct communication with our local concierge and, if applicable, your tour driver. If there is an emergency also please contact your travel insurance at your earliest convenience to prevent out of pocket costs.

There are no mandatory vaccinations for Japan, but it’s always a good idea to consult your doctor before traveling. Ensure that you are up-to-date with routine vaccinations, such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and flu vaccines. We recommend checking any travel health advisories or updates from health authorities.
